Recently, one swing broke and the second one has been hurting her outer thigh...causing a reoccurring wound. She failed to tell her daddy about this; her reasoning being that she didn't want to cause him more work.
So, one evening recently was very important to us as a family...it was time to have a heart to heart talk with her about a difficult piece of her adoption story. So, we leaned into the uncomfortable moment right along with her. We walk through this year by year...day by day and sometimes moment by moment.
Her daddy was keenly aware that she would most likely need her swing the next day. So, in about 15 minutes he fixed it for her...because that's what the best, loving daddies do. She was so happy and has been swinging frequently ever since. She said to me, "I LOVE my new swing!!!" She thanked her daddy and gave him a big hug.
So, our loving Heavenly Father longs to mend our brokenness. That's His business. We don't need to fear coming to Him. He's never too busy embrace whatever we are facing. He longs to create beautiful things out of hard circumstances so that we can more deeply understand pure love and true joy. He brings beauty from ashes. And then...we share our story.
Sometimes, its the simplest things in life that teach us the deepest lessons.
